DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION AND MOVEMENT DISORDERS SURGERY ASSOCIATION STATUTES

The name of the association is "DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION AND MOVEMENT DISORDERS SURGERY ASSOCIATION." It can be abbreviated as DBS Association.
The headquarters of the association is in Istanbul.
The purpose of the association is to ensure the application of treatment techniques for Deep Brain Stimulation initiatives and Movement Disorders diseases with highly evidenced scientific methods, to contribute to education in this field by publishing various publications on written and digital platforms, to organize scientific meetings, to make efforts to bring the developing technologies in this field to our country, to popularize such initiatives, to train physicians, physician candidates, and personnel who can work in this field, to invite professionals from abroad, to support those who want to increase their knowledge, experience, and expertise in this field, and to increase awareness in the society about disease intervention. To maintain and continuously renew and strengthen the treatment of movement disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation initiatives in our country in accordance with contemporary standards, to conduct research and studies.
For this purpose, the association:
Organizes scientific events.
Publishes studies in various foreign languages ​​alongside Turkish in scientific and social platforms.
Organizes Conferences, Congresses, Scientific Meetings, Seminars, Symposia, and sessions.
Engages in activities such as encouraging work and research by giving Awards, Medals, and Plaques.
Issues certificates authorized by relevant official institutions and organizations for documenting the training provided.
Supports the participation of physicians, physician candidates, and personnel in domestic and international seminars, conferences, and various studies.
Collaborates with domestic and foreign associations for the same purpose.
Can purchase office supplies, medical equipment, and tools.
May employ personnel for the smooth conduct of association activities or for the use of medical equipment and tools it owns in return for payment.
Establishes economic enterprises to achieve the purposes of the association.
Organizes courses and symposiums for postgraduate education purposes.
Creates scholarship opportunities.
Collaborates with similar professional organizations abroad, becomes a member of federations, and organizes joint scientific events.
Organizes social solidarity activities among its members.
Enters into agreements with relevant organizations to protect the rights of professional members.
Protects and strengthens the social and legal rights of association members.
Resorts to all kinds of administrative and legal means in line with the purposes of the association.
Initiates legal proceedings, files lawsuits, or participates in lawsuits already filed when necessary to achieve the purposes of the association.
Provides opinions to institutions in Turkey regarding the suitability of physicians coming from abroad for training when requested.
Collaborates scientifically with other international associations working in the field of Deep Brain Stimulation initiatives and Movement Disorders Surgery, communicates, and makes representation agreements.

Right to become a member of the Association: There are two types of membership in the association, full and honorary.
Full membership: Full members who have the right to vote and be elected in the association organs.
Anyone who is capable of exercising civil rights and is a "Neurosurgeon" or "Neurology specialist" with sufficient experience/knowledge in following and managing Deep Brain Stimulation initiatives and/or Movement Disorders diseases, and who does not have any prohibition decision according to the relevant articles of Law No. 5253 can become a full member of this association.
Full members should pay the determined membership fee for each term.
To become a full member, the person fills out the necessary form and applies to the board of directors. The application is reviewed within 30 days and finalized by a decision.
Honorary membership: It is a membership given to individuals who are interested in the activities of the association but do not meet the conditions for full membership and who have made a significant contribution to the existence of the association, financially and spiritually. It is given under the following conditions with the proposal of at least five full members and the decision of the general assembly.
Those who are not Turkish citizens and do not have the right of residence in Turkey
Honorary members do not have the right to vote and be elected in the association organs.
Honorary members are not obliged to pay dues.
Honorary membership is finalized by the decision of the board of directors within 30 days upon the proposal.
Membership rights:
No one can be forced to become a member of the association. Every member has the right to resign at any time.
Association members have equal rights. Each member has one (1) vote at the general assembly.
Members must personally use their votes. They cannot cast their votes through another member.
Those who want to become members of the association fill out and sign the membership registration form obtained from the association headquarters/website and submit it to the board of directors along with two (2) passport-sized photographs.
